It's currently impossible to complete KOTOR 2 on Switch

UPDATE: Aspyr responds with workaround.

UPDATE 23/6/22: Aspyr has responded to Eurogamer with a statement on the known Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 issue.

"We're aware of an issue that is preventing some Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords players from advancing in the game," it reads. "Our data suggests that this is only affecting a small number of users but please rest assured that we're working on a patch to fix it. For users who have encountered this issue please visit our FAQ for temporary workarounds and follow @AspyrMedia on Twitter for updates."

That workaround from the FAQ means utilising the cheat function as follows: "If you're encountering this crash, our suggested workaround is to warp past the point where the crash occurs using the cheat menu. Triple click the left thumbstick, open the cheats menu, select warp, and warp to OND504."

It's still unknown when an official patch will be implemented.

ORIGINAL STORY 21/6/22: At present, it's impossible to complete Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 on Switch due to a bug.

Aspyr released a remaster of the Xbox title on Switch last month, with cut content due out in Q3 this year as DLC.

However, a game crash occurs after the Basilisk Crash cutscene when landing on Onderon, which Aspyr is working to fix.

Responding to a player who asked "Are you guys aware there is no way to complete this game?" on Twitter, the studio responded that the bug is a known issue but there's no ETA on a fix just yet.

An update on the bug fix will be posted on the Aspyr Support page.

This is just the latest controversy with the game. Despite the positive reaction to cut content arriving as DLC, Aspyr noted that this won't be compatible with existing save files, meaning a new game will need to be started from scratch.
