During this event, you'll be able to catch Explorer Pikachu, fight Pokémon which appear in the movie in raids and complete exclusive field research tasks.

Best of all, by playing Pokémon Go during this event, you'll unlock the Search for Zarude research quest, which, as the name suggests, allows you to add the mythical Zarude to your Pokédex.

Everything else you need to know about the Secrets of the Jungle event in Pokémon Go

Zarude.

The main attraction of the Secrets of the Jungle event in Pokémon Go is the release of the Search for Zarude special research quest. If you complete this special research quest, you'll be able to add Zarude - a mythical Pokémon from Gen 8 and one of the stars of the Secrets of the Jungle movie - to your Pokédex.

There is, however, a catch - Search for Zarude can only be unlocked during the Secrets of the Jungle event. This means you must play Pokémon Go at least once during this event, because, if you don't, you won't be able to catch Zarude.

Thankfully, once you've unlocked Zarude, you'll have it forever, so you don't need to rush to complete it.

Jessie and James will also be spreading double trouble from their Meowth balloon from the start of the event till Friday, 15th October at 10am (local time). Make sure you stop by to say hello!

Caterpie, Oddish, Diglett, Mankey, Hoothoot, Aipom, Larvitar, Combee, Roggenrola, Drilbur, Cottonee and Dwebble - all Pokémon connected to the Secrets of the Jungle movie - will be appearing more frequently in the wild. Explorer Pikachu is also back in full costume and you might even be able to catch a shiny one!

Finally, the line up for raids is getting a shake up for this event. For one-star raids, you'll be able to battle Explorer Pikachu, Larvitar, Roggenrola, Foongus and Rufflet. Meanwhile, in three-star raids, you can fight Lickitung, Chansey, Pinsir, Ludicolo and Flygon.

The Season of Hidden Gems has arrived, bringing with it a new Go Battle League season. Depending on your region, you can currently battle Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf in five-star raids. Elsewhere, be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres. This incense may also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Secrets of the Jungle date and times in Pokémon Go explained

The Secrets of the Jungle event in Pokémon Go runs from Friday, 1st October to Sunday, 10th October - starting at 10am (local time) and ending at 8pm (local time).

It's important to note that the Search for Zarude special research quest will only be available during this specific time period, but, once unlocked, you'll be able to unlock it whenever you like.

We don't currently know if or when Search for Zarude will be made available again, so we highly recommend playing Pokémon Go during this event simply to ensure you've unlocked this quest.

Have fun during the Secrets of the Jungle event!
