Pokémon Go Uxie counters, weaknesses and moveset explained

How to catch this Lake Guardian in Pokémon Go.

Uxie, the knowledge Pokémon, can be found in both raids and in the wild in Pokémon Go.

When searching for Uxie in the wild, it's important to remember that it's incredibly hard to find and, as a regional exclusive wild Pokémon, can only be found in the Asia and Pacific regions. It shares this status with the other Lake Guardians - Mesprit and Azelf.

If appearing in a raid, Uxie, like all Legendary Pokémon, has a five-star rating. Depending on the strength of your Pokémon, you may need to team up with other trainers, which, thanks to Remote Raiding, you can now do from home.

Everything we know about Uxie

Uxie and the other Lake Guardians - Mesprit and Azelf - all share a similar design, which appears to be inspired by a fae creature, such as a sprite.

The other Lake Guardians - Mesprit and Azelf.

This fairy-like theme continued when it came to their non-Japanese language name choice, as, like the legendary birds, the Lake Guardians have different names outside of Japan. Each non-Japanese name for the Lake Guardians has taken inspiration from a fantasy creature; Uxie is similar to pixie, Mesprit to sprite and Azelf clearly takes some inspiration from elf.

The names for the Lake Guardians also include references to three different types of personal pronouns. Uxie's name, in particular, appears to be partly based on the word 'you;' taking that word's last letter to be it's first and then ending with the reference to pixies.

Aside from the interesting onomatology of their names, the Lake Guardians are known as originally appearing in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl alongside the Creation trio, which consists of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.
